MLB players, analysts -- and Orbit -- rave about Jose Altuve's monster performance

The Astros have blitzed the Boston Red Sox with consecutive 8-2 victories, sending the visitors trudging back to Fenway Park with train whistles ringing through their skulls. No joking. Only focus. Their final run came in the 4th when Red Sox rookie sensation, Rafael Devers hit a sac flys scoring Mookie Betts tying the game at 2. He followed that up with a 1-2-3 fifth to finish up his day and preserve the 4-1 lead.

Well, it all comes down to Sunday afternoon for the Boston Red Sox in 2017. Then it was time for Jose Altuve's first bat. This year through two games, they've been outscored 16-4.

Bogaerts' words may not be as flamboyant as Kevin Millar's, but the sentiment is the same. They lead their best-of-five ALDS 2-0 and send right-hander Carlos Carrasco to the mound. The shining exception, of course, was 2013, when they won the World Series. The Astros have the slight advantage here with pitching as their starters have been on point all season long. Eduardo Nunez acquired midseason by the Red Sox is versatile as he can play nearly anywhere in the infield, but he too has been nagged by a sprained right knee ligament.

Below, you'll find the full tv schedule for today's American League and National League Division Series.

The Red Sox went 16-8 from September 4 until September 30.

Boston's downfall hasn't only been the bats. He improved to (3-0) and lowered his ERA to 0.96 in October after going 5.2 innings allowing 2 hits and just 1 run. In Fister's case, it was his career. Fister finally signed in May with the Angels but was waived after three Triple-A starts. With David Price the Red Sox have a bullpen that can compete with any opponent they will face this postseason.

"The journey's definitely had some ups and downs", Fister said.

There's a solid chance John Farrell will end up falling on the sword for his pitchers' shortcomings, but really, what can the manager do?

"It's possible, yes", Farrell said. "Maybe slow down some of their right-handed hitters". It took him three batters to do it on Thursday, when the Astros' second hitter, Alex Bregman pulled a 2-2 slider for a homer before Altuve smoked an 0-2 fastball.

Altuve's astounding night is just the 10th time in baseball history a player has hit three home runs in a postseason game, putting him in the company of Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson, and Albert Pujols. Houston leads Boston, 7-2. To get there, they first have to defeat Boston. He started having more problems with his right knee in April. Likewise, his sliders, which resulted in many groundball outs last season, haven't been breaking as hard.

The Astros have some numbers against Fister. After getting out of that huge jam in the third, he did allow a couple of runners in the fourth, but one was on a bloop double and the other was an intentional walk.

We have talked before about this disappearing Boston offense, which gets shut down with surprising frequency.

When Price entered the game, the Red Sox were down 4-1 and things were about to get much worse. As for the rest of the game, we all know how it unfolds.

"We can play our gaps in the middle because Dallas can handle some balls back at him".

"This one's on me", Sale said.
